What Is Lipedema?
Lipedema is a chronic and progressive adipose tissue disorder that primarily affects women. It is characterized by disproportionate fat accumulation in the extremities, associated with pain, swelling, and tenderness to touch.
Lipedema vs. Obesity
Unlike obesity, lipedema does not respond adequately to diet or exercise. It is commonly associated with pain, easy bruising, and symmetrical fat distribution.
